If you took the time and had the chance to write to a person or a thing, who or what would you write to? Earlier this year, Meantime Theatre Company asked the public this exact question. Inspired by the notion that there exists a secret writer in everyone, but not always the platform to express yourself, we set up a postal address and urged anyone and everyone to send us something, as long or as short, as rude or as kind, as angry or as loving, as funny or as serious as they wanted, as long as it was from the heart. What followed became the first showing of The Letter Project: a work-in-progress devised directly from the flood of letters we received which debuts at the Cork Arts Theatre on June 19th and 20th at 2pm as part of the Cork Midsummer Festival 2010.
