The Good Father

.

Meantime’s debut production – The Good Father by Christian O’Reilly, starring Una Kirwan and James Browne – ran for a week during the summer of 2009 at The Granary Theatre Studio due to the generous support of the Granary team. The show was a sell-out success and was immediately commissioned by Cork Opera House to kick off their autumn season with a 2-week run at The Half Moon Theatre.

.

The Evening Echo said that the production worked with ‘an unforced contemporary feeling and an emotional landscape that is real’, displaying ‘two really fine performances from Browne and Kirwan in what is an intimate and rewarding night’, while the Irish Examiner described The Good Father as ‘a compelling play… there is an intimacy about it which is thoroughly engaging’.

.

The Good Father then embarked on a successful national tour, enjoying a sold-out weekend at the Helix in Dublin, and culminated with standing ovations to a packed house at Listowel Writers Week.
