Maria graduated from UCC Drama and Theatre Studies in 2006. As a lighting designer, she has worked on Dark Week, a promenade piece at the Everyman Palace Theatre (Playgroup), UCC Drama and Theatre Studies’ Final Year Projects at the Granary Theatre in 2003 and 2005, and Blithe Spirit, The Love Of Don Perlimplin For Belisa In The Garden, The Maids and Threesome for UCC Dramat. As a production manager, she has worked on The Art Of Swimming at the Cork Midsummer Festival 2007, which toured to Kinsale Arts Week and Edinburgh Fringe Festival the same year, The Four-Faced Liar at the Bodega at Cork Midsummer Festival 2007 (both Playgroup), The New Director’s Festival 2006 (Granary Productions), Susurrus at the Cork Midsummer Festival 2009 (David Leddy) and the up-and-coming UCC Drama and Theatre Studies Final Year Projects 2010. As a costume assistant, she has worked on Meridian’s Knock Three Times at the Granary. Maria assistant-directed Helen (2004) andThe Public (2005) for UCC Drama and Theatre Studies and made her directorial debut with Meantime’s The Good Father by Christian O’Reilly. She has since directed Tom Murphy’s Alice Trilogy as part of The Spiral Season at The Granary Theatre, and currently directs Meantime’s own The Letter Project.
